• Essential Amino Acids : These cannot be synthesised by the body in sufficient quantities and must be supplied in the diet. These are individual "building blocks" for tissues, organs, enzymes, hormones, antibodies etc. For dogs, these include Leucine, Isoleucine, Valine, Arginine, Methionine, Histidine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Lysine and. For cats, Taurine is also essential.

• L- Leucine : One of the three branch chained amino acids (BCAAs) along with Isoleucine and Valine. Vital for muscle development and maintenance and utilization of other amino acids to build proteins. When combined with regular exercise, it has been found to reduce cholesterol as well boost weight loss and prevent high blood sugar.
